Process Engineer at EssilorLuxottica - Zevenaar
Join our dynamic team at EssilorLuxottica as a Process Engineer based in Zevenaar. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to influence and enhance our production systems, ensuring efficiency, quality, and sustainability in our manufacturing environment. You will be instrumental in driving continuous improvement initiatives that align with our strategic goals and operational excellence.
Your Role
As a Process Engineer, you will take ownership of analysing, improving, and further developing our production processes and products. Your investigative and pragmatic approach will identify opportunities to make our processes smarter, more efficient, and more sustainable. You will translate complex analyses into impactful and realistic improvement projects that benefit the entire production lifecycle.
Your role involves close collaboration with production operators, the Technical Services department, and other relevant teams. By leveraging proven methodologies such as Lean Management and Six Sigma, you will design and implement sustainable improvements that contribute to cost reduction, enhanced product quality, and increased customer satisfaction.
In addition, you will support the introduction and commissioning of new machinery and processes. Conducting thorough audits and ensuring accurate, up-to-date information in our quality management system will be fundamental to your responsibilities. Your contributions will be key to the ongoing professionalisation and continuous improvement of our production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse and map current production processes and products to identify areas for improvement, efficiency gains, and quality enhancements.
- Develop, coordinate, and implement targeted process improvement projects, working collaboratively with operators and the Technical Services team to ensure practicality and success.
- Apply Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to diagnose inefficiencies and create sustainable solutions, fostering a culture of continuous improvement throughout the production facility.
- Lead initiatives aimed at reducing production costs, improving product quality, and elevating customer satisfaction metrics.
- Conduct comprehensive process and product audits to maintain compliance and identify risks or deviations.
- Analyze deviations rigorously and translate findings into actionable corrective and preventive measures.
- Serve as project leader for the introduction and implementation of new machinery, production processes, and updated working methods, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum effectiveness.
- Provide support during process changes and optimize rollouts to guarantee smooth adoption across the organization.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Production, Quality Assurance, Engineering, and Technical Services to drive alignment on objectives and improvements.
- Manage and update quality management documentation to maintain accuracy and compliance with company and industry standards.
- Prepare detailed quality and process management reports, providing insights and recommendations to stakeholders and management.
- Develop, monitor, and enhance relevant Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track progress and inform continuous improvement efforts.
- Embed successful improvements into standardized processes, updated procedures, and clear work instructions to sustain operational excellence.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement by inspiring colleagues and promoting best practices throughout the production teams.
Qualifications and Skills
- Successfully completed bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering and Management, Engineering, Process Technology, or a closely related technical discipline.
- Demonstrated knowledge and practical experience in process optimisation and continuous improvement within a production or manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in applying Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent process improvement methodologies to deliver measurable results.
- Strong analytical capabilities with a proven ability to break down complex processes and problems into actionable solutions.
- Meticulous attention to detail combined with a proactive, service-oriented, and results-driven work ethic.
- Excellent digital proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel, and familiarity with quality management systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in both Dutch and English, enabling effective cross-departmental collaboration.
- Ability to work collaboratively across various departments and levels within the organization while also managing projects independently.
- A genuine team player with leadership qualities, flexibility, resilience under pressure, and adeptness at prioritising tasks in a fast-paced production setting.
