Your role

 

The Application Engineer is responsible for planning, conducting, and coordinating complex tests, providing technical 2nd level support, supporting the sales department, and serving as a central interface between our customers and internal departments. International travel is required.

 

Main responsibilities: 

 

  • Independent planning, execution, documentation and analysis of individual tests to validate new products.
  • Investigation of complex issues, including the necessary troubleshooting.
  • Derivation of optimization measures and recommendations, e.g., release/block decisions, design changes, or process improvements.
  • Drive company-wide product standardization in close alignment with the global AE organization.
  • Prepare and conduct customer demonstrations and machine acceptances.
  • Support the service colleagues and customers with difficult and urgent machine problems.
  • Create and update documentation for Satisloh technicians and customers.
  • Ensure regular communication with key accounts and represent customer interests within our company. Be the voice of the customer!
  • Advise Rx productions to work more efficient, e.g. reduce reject rate or increase throughput.
  • Contribute your field experience to development projects.
  • Support the R&D department during the complete development phase.

 

Main requirements: 

 

  • Technical Diploma or Engineering degree with relevant experience
  • Strong analytical and communication skills in Italian and English.
  • Willingness to travel frequently.
  • Motivation to learn and grow in a technical environment.
  • Problem-solving mindset and customer-oriented attitude.
  • Highly valued: knowledge of ophthalmic lens production processes (hard coating, anti-reflection, sun coating).
  • Preferred: previous experience in ophthalmic or solar lens manufacturing environments
