Report to the Technical Office Supervisor, the Program Supervisor is responsible for managing daily operations of the sample production line, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality prototypes, pre-series, and validation samples for new product introductions (NPI). This position plays a key role in bridging design, tooling, and production teams — coordinating resources, validating product readiness, and providing critical feedback for industrialization and tools optimization. Key results are on-time delivery of all sample builds; conformity of samples to dimensional, cosmetic, and functional standards; accurate feedback on process stability, tools behavior, and industrialization feasibility. Efficient coordination of manpower, jigs, and machines on the sample line; clean and traceable documentation for each build.
My day at EssilorLuxottica
- Plan and supervise daily production activities on the sample line.
- Coordinate engineers and technicians according to project priorities.
- Ensure compliance with safety, 5S, and quality standards
- Manage builds for all NPI phases (L2, L1, L0, and first mass validation).
- Support tool trials and follow process parameters defined by NPI engineers.
- Record and report key findings (flashes, shrinkage, assembly issues, color deviations).
- Supervise rework and improvement loops with the Tool Shop.
- Provide structured feedback to Tooling, QA, and NPI Engineers for tools and process improvements.
- Maintain updated sample build reports, open point lists, and traceability documentation.
- Support first article inspection (FAI) and dimensional checks.
- Align with the Engineering Scheduler and NPI Engineer on build schedules and priorities.
- Support assembly and routing validation activities.
- Interface with Tool Shop for tools’ readiness and corrective actions.
- Maintain 5S, jigs inventory, and machine status records.
- Support validation and pre-production builds when required
- Comply with the local and group policies
- Comply with the ISO certifications and other group systems
- Contribute to the external/internal audits
Must have
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent)
- 3–5 years in production, process, or sample line supervision (injection, MIM, or metal manufacturing preferred)
- Solid experience in NPI environment
- Solid understanding of injection process, mold structure, and assembly flow
- Troubleshooting skills for process and quality issues.
- Strong coordination and communication skills.
- Proactive problem-solving attitude.
- Organized, reliable, and team oriented.
- Comfortable managing engineers and technicians
- English language is required
- Understanding of health and safety standard and regulations
