The Assembly Production Manager will have to lead the Assembly department end to end, ensuring the safety and the production performance of the area, coordinating with all the stakeholders and the other functions, defining the work arrangement and the training and growth of the Assembly team.

My day at EssilorLuxottica

  • Drive the process development, the volume ramp up and continuous improvement of the area;
  • Work closely in a cross functional teams involving Process Engineering, Facilities, EHS, Maintenance and all other needed functions;
  • Coordinate the process set up and the machines installation working closely with a cross functional team involving Process Engineering, Facilities, EHS, Maintenance and all other needed functions;
  • Define the daily and long term work arrangement of the production team;
  • Responsible of growing up the department organization, and define for the new comers a suitable training and on board plan;
  • Manage the daily operations and KPIs achievement, including but not limited to:
    • Production output and quality targets achievement;
    • New production introduction follow up and troubleshooting in manufacturing;
    • New processes and machinery set up, installation and user acceptance;
    • Defects and process issues handling, root causes analysis and the definition of corrective/preventive actions to avoid them, follow up and solve the problems as cross-functional team leader;
    • Machines OEE and workforce productivity control and improvement
  • Cross functional coordination with several other functions for the KPIs achievement, with common and frequent interactions with HR, EHS, Maintenance, Engineering, Supply Chain and Quality;
  • Define and implement projects and activities for the continuous improvement of the manufacturing operations and quality, and the reduction overall operating costs;
  • Provide analysis, reporting and executive summaries on the Manufacturing KPIs and performance of the department to the local and corporate team;
  • Preliminary definition of the training program, SOP and Working Instructions, and make sure those are respected in the operations;
  • Responsible of the Safety, EHS and 5S in the working area;
  • Sharing and cascading to the team of company announcements and policies to the team
  • Yearly Budget and periodical forecast definition, in terms of KPIs, HC plan, Capex and Opex;

 

Must have

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in leading a manufacturing team in similar industries and processes;
  • Strong know-how and experience in the leading complex assembly lines and the related equipment and machinery;
  • Knowledge of CNC and lens cutting processes are a plus;
  • College degree or above, preferably with Major in Engineering, Material Science or similar;
  • Proficient English written and spoken communication;
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office software package and good at data analysis. SAP knowledge is a plus;
  • Logical Thinking and Problem Solving Attitude, Target Oriented Mindset and Capability to work independently in a dynamic environment;
  • Available to travel to Italy or China for training purposes or business review;
  • Strong coordination, interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Familiar with common 5S and Lean tools. Project management experience is welcome;
  • Experience in Metal Painting or Polishing process is a plus.
  • A good ability in reading technical drawings and in 3D/2D modeling is a plus;
  • Italian or Chinese languages knowledge are a plus;
