Report to the Technical Office Supervisor, the NPI Supervisor leads and coordinates all New Product Introduction (NPI) engineering activities from design validation (L2) to production trial readiness (L1), ensuring that all gate deliverables (G1/G0) are achieved on time and according to quality and process requirements. The NPI Supervisor acts as the central coordinator among engineering, schedulers, tooling, validation teams and other departments, to secure smooth gate transitions.
My day at EssilorLuxottica
- Supervise and develop the NPI Engineering Team
- Achieve and continuously improve the lead time between G2 and G1, guaranteeing that projects meet quality, process, and technical requirements within the expected deadlines.
- Support production activities at G0 in case of blocking points, ensuring that issues traced back to the G1 phase are solved effectively and without delay.
- Monitor progress and lead weekly reviews to track engineering readiness, risks, and open points
- Drive resolution of issues that could impact timing, quality, or gate approval.
- Collaborate with other Supervisors within the Technical Office – Tools Design and Sample Line
- Define and review technical sheets, routing, process lists, jigs readiness and technical documentation required for sample line activities
- Provide accurate project status updates and risk assessments to management.
- Ensure traceability and completeness of engineering documentation, including component approval lists, color and process data, and validation records
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in engineering lead time, process standardization, and cross-functional communication.
- Coordinate closely with the Engineering Scheduler to align workloads, milestones, and resource needs.
- Ensure efficient communication and alignment with the Sample Line for prototype and validation builds
- Interface with Tool Shop for tools readiness and corrective actions.
- Coordinate closely with other departments (Production, Quality, APQP, Supply Chain,..)
- Ensure compliance with safety, 5S, and quality standards
- Support validation and pre-production builds when required
- Comply with the local and group policies
- Comply with the ISO certifications and other group systems
- Contribute to the external/internal audits
Must have
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent)
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in product industrialization or NPI coordination
- Strong technical understanding of manufacturing processes (injection, painting, assembly)
- Familiarity with tooling and jigs design fundamentals
- Project management and analytical skills with structured problem-solving approach
- Effective communication across teams and levels
- Fluent in English; proficient in Excel and project tracking tools
- Organized, reliable, and team oriented.
- Understanding of health and safety standard and regulations
