A Distribution Center Engineer is a professional responsible for designing, developing, and implementing systems to optimize various aspects of the logistics process. They analyze data and workflows to identify opportunities for improvement and formulate strategies to enhance efficiency, minimize waste, and ensure quality. Collaborating closely with the operations team and supervisors, Distribution Center Engineers ensure the seamless and effective execution of logistics processes. Possessing strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, along with project management expertise, is essential for this role. Additionally, they must demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A comprehensive understanding of logistics operations, strategic planning, and return on investment analysis is also necessary to present and justify capital expenditure (CAPEX) approvals.

My day at EssilorLuxottica

• Monitor and evaluate the performance of logistics processes, identifying areas for improvement by tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure productivity, accuracy, and efficiency.
• Manage, control, analyze, and enhance all Distribution center processes to ensure the achievement of targeted KPIs as planned.
• Oversee the utilization of company capital expenditure (CAPEX) for the implementation of automation systems.
• Improvement and maintain effective logistics operations to ensure all processes are conducted efficiently.
• Possess experience in drawing and designing production layouts and managing production processes.
• Analyze physical and system flows to identify areas for enhancement, proposing and executing improvement actions to enhance operational smoothness, speed, and flexibility.
• Apply project management skills to oversee and execute the implementation of new Distribution center projects.

Must have

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or related fields
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in process management and machinery operations.
• Excellent command of both written and spoken English
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• CAD skill and experience with SAP systems
• Proven experience in designing and developing production flow layouts and managing production processes.
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement automation systems and machinery solutions.
• Experience in project management, specifically in applying processes and driving improvements.
• Good diagnostic, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated experience in people management.
• Systematic thinking, strong analytical capabilities, self-motivation, and a high sense of responsibility.
