The Environmental Engineer / Officer plays a critical role in ensuring that the manufacturing plant complies with environmental laws, regulations, and corporate sustainability goals. This position supports the EHS department by managing environmental monitoring, permitting, reporting, and compliance programs
My day at EssilorLuxottica
- Drive continuous improvement in resource efficiency by enhancing recycling performance, waste management practices, and material optimization initiatives.
- Lead environmental stewardship initiatives to reduce the organization’s environmental footprint, including setting and tracking targets for greenhouse gas emissions, energy efficiency, waste reduction, and sustainable sourcing.
- Act as an internal sustainability consultant, providing guidance and raising awareness on emerging sustainability trends, programs, and regulatory or corporate sustainability requirements.
- Manage and oversee environmental monitoring programs, ensuring accurate data collection, analysis, and compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
- Support and coordinate activities of the Energy and Environmental Committee, including analysis of energy consumption, environmental performance, and identification of improvement opportunities.
- Prepare, collect, and consolidate GHG and environmental data and reports in accordance with TGO requirements and relevant standards.
- Support the implementation, maintenance, and auditing of the EHS Management System (EHSMS), including preparation of documentation and follow-up of corrective actions.
- Provide support to other integrated management systems, such as ISO 13485 and ISO 9001, within the scope of assigned responsibilities.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Must have
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
- Knowledge of environmental laws and industrial waste handling.
- Strong organizational, reporting, and communication skills.
- Experience with EHS management systems (e.g., ISO14001 & ISO45001) is preferred.
- Familiarity with data analysis and environmental monitoring tools.
- Degree on environmental science or environmental engineer
- Environmental control license (Wastewater, Air pollution & Hazardous waste)
- Dangerous goods specialist is advantage
- Safety professional license is a plus
Skills/Knowledge/Experience:
- Minimum 5 yrs. Experience of working in safety department as officer or engineer level in environment area for manufacturing or continuous process plant,
- Experience in Environmental Impact Assessment, VOC emission inventory, Greenhouse Gases emission and Environmental Management System
- Skills in environmental procedure initiate,
- Skills in training provider,
- Skills in assessment for environment aspect and impact
- Skills in industrial waste management
- Strong analytical, logic, problem solver and systematic thinking skills
- Good command in English both spoken and written
