JOB DESCRIPTION

GENERAL FUNCTION

Eyebuydirect is seeking a passionate Associate Optometrist (OD) committed to delivering high-quality vision care in a collaborative environment. This role provides comprehensive optometric care, builds trusted patient relationships, and partners with the store team to create a seamless experience across eyecare and retail.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our new Eyebuydirect practice, help shape the patient experience from day one and consistently exceed patient expectations. The ideal candidate is patient-focused, comfortable with technology, highly collaborative, and motivated to support practice growth while maintaining the highest clinical standards.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides comprehensive optometric care in accordance with clinical protocols and the brand’s standards of care.
  • Ensures accurate diagnoses and provides appropriate, patient-centered recommendations.
  • Builds trusted doctor-patient relationships by listening carefully, explaining each step of the exam, and addressing questions with empathy and clarity.
  • Assesses each patient's visual, lifestyle, and eyecare needs and provides relevant clinical and eyewear recommendations.
  • Uses available tools, visual aids, and technology to help patients understand their vision, eye health, and overall well-being.
  • Educates patients on the importance of regular eye exams and supports appropriate follow-up and future appointment scheduling.
  • Uses modern clinical technology, including tele-optometry capabilities where appropriate, to support patient access and care.
  • Partners closely with the store and eyecare teams to support efficient workflows, strong execution, and a smooth handoff across the patient journey.
  • Strives to exceed KPI expectations and drives practice performance through accountability for relevant clinical and operational goals.
  • Acts as an Eyebuydirect ambassador and helps build awareness of the practice within the local community.
  • Builds effective partnerships with local and organizational stakeholders.
  • Provides clinical guidance and training to team members using Company-provided programs and resources.
  • Offers clear, constructive feedback and supports a positive, collaborative culture that empowers team members to make decisions close to the patient. Identifies what motivates each individual & directs conversations & actions appropriately.
  • Ensures clinical systems, patient records, and office processes are maintained accurately and consistently.
  • Takes pride in the appearance and organization of the clinical space.
  • Maintains a safe environment for patients and team members and follows all Company policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties based on business needs.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Doctor of Optometry
  • Commitment to quality patient care
  • Knowledge of current Optometric theory & technology
  • Strong communicator & listener
  • Problem solving ability
  • Solid Organization skills
