Team Description:

 

In this context, the Neuroscience & Medical Research department designs upstream innovations across several strategic domains for the Group. This work is built on robust scientific validation and transversal innovation initiatives at the interface of biomedical research, digital technologies, and medical devices.

 

Within the Neuroscience & Medical Research division,  you will join the Brain team and have the opportunity to shape the future of neuroscience-driven development of wearables, cognitive monitoring and optical instruments. You will be embedded into an exceptional team of neuroscientists and engineers at the forefront of vision and neurotechnology research- spanning cognitive science, brain & mental health, and related pathologies. Essential Requirements & Qualifications:

 

  • Post-doctoral academic or R&D experience (at least 3 years) in neuroengineering,  biomedical science, computational neuroscience or related fields.
  • Strong background in bio-signal processing. This may include experience in processing brain signals (EEG/MEG), electromyography (EMG), eye-tracking (ET), electrooculography (EOG), galvanic skin response, and similar signals. 
  • Significant experience with bio-signal and neuropsychological experimentation routines and practice with experimentation on human individuals and, ideally, with patients in clinical environments.
  • Significant experience with hardware/software integration for bio-signal acquisition.
  • Excellent programming skills. At least 5 years of experience with Python and/or MATLAB, C/C++/C#.
  • Strong background in machine learning, deep learning, and data analysis.
  • Independent work with a high level of quality awareness.
  • A positive and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.

 

The ideal candidate will have:

 

  • Experience with VR/AR and/or motion tracking technologies.
  • Experience with in real-time, closed-loop signal processing and brain-computer interaction.
  • Experience with neuromodulation technology (TMS, tDCS, etc.)
  • Experience with indirect brain imaging such as (f)MRI, (f)NIRS, PET, etc.
  • A rich publication (scientific journals, conferences and book chapters) and general track (magazines, talks, seminars, interviews, awards and nominations, etc.) record in relevant research fields.
  • Proven ability to identify interesting research questions with commercialization prospects and design research studies to address these.
  • Versatility in using various platforms and operating systems and ability to program in different languages.
  • Previous experience with the development or interfacing with medical devices and wearables.
  • Previous experience working for neurotech startups or large companies.
  • Previous experience in applying for research funding and working in the context of a collaborative research project framework such as the HORIZON 2020.
  • Proven ability in partaking and leading teams of researchers.
  • Experience using Git in a professional environment.
  • Previous experience in the design and implementation of clinical trials.
  • Connectivity with the international scientific communities in relevant fields, ability to disseminate research findings in scientific venues, delivering relevant talks, seminars, etc.
  • Formal academic teaching and mentoring experience.
