GENERAL FUNCTION
The Sr Director, Medical Affairs Director will be responsible for leading across multiple channels the medical affairs strategy for Myopia, Presbyopia, Light Management, Clinical Optometry categories/Instruments, as well as eyewear solutions and their related products and services, in order to contribute to the commercial success of our brands, products and latest innovations. This role will be the driving force behind the structure of the medical division of EssilorLuxottica and act as a subject matter expert in the eye health, vision care, & eye care management concepts and evidence-based data of the medical area. Serving as the connection point between the medical scientific community and EssilorLuxottica.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute medical affairs strategy focusing on product’s scientific data dissemination, share of voice; independent expert engagement and development; provide business and marketing and essential inputs for go to market strategies.
- Accelerate the impact of the Medical Affairs function by guiding the structure and execution of the Medical Affairs plan within other functions. Ensuring Medical Affairs is given a voice within the largest business marketing plan for our brands and lens product categories.
- Implement the strategy for an effective Stellest deployment program: from prescription to dispensing. Assist with onboarding and training of new hires.
- Represent EssilorLuxottica and maintain medical and professional relations with the key external experts, such as Academia, Optometrists, Ophthalmologists and Professional Associations. Including attending professional, industry events across the country.
- In alignment with Global Medical Affairs, you will actively develop medical education and training content and programs for internal and external stakeholders, with a focus on Prescribing ECPs, Optometrists and Ophthalmologists and Medical Community and Academia.
- You will ensure compliance with the laws, regulations and guidelines applicable to and related to medical affairs, with the support of our internal or external legal consultants.
- You will be the gate keeper of the alignment of our medical activity and our medical assets with the practices of the brands and eye care / scientific communities.
- Monitor and analyze trends and clinical-scientific developments to ensure that the company's products and services are in line with the best practices of the US medical community and will encourage the constant updating of your supported team and brands. Will attend medical and professional conferences and other industry events to maintain awareness.
- Monitor developments in the use of new digital technologies in areas related to Medical Affairs by sharing information and actively proposing new ways that allow us to increase reach towards our medical stakeholders.
- You will monitor the medical activity of the industry and our direct competitors to ensure that EssilorLuxottica is always at the forefront.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- PhD required
- At least 5-10 years experience in eye care sectors
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, experienced in team management
- Experienced in reviewing the medical materials, literatures
- Proficiency in MS office applications
- Strong leadership, management and Communication skills
- Business acumen
- Results-oriented with ability to prioritize
- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving orientation
- High degree of availability (travel, visits, evenings, conferences, etc.). even on weekends
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Business Administration degree is a plus
Pay Range: 244,621.20 - 419,175.20
Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements. In addition, you may also be offered a competitive bonus and/or commission plan, which complements a first-class total rewards package.
