GENERAL FUNCTION
We are seeking a Reliability Engineer with a strong background in mechanical - electronics and troubleshooting to support our maintenance team. This role acts as the second level of technical support, assisting maintenance technicians when complex issues arise, and working closely with the Engineering Manager to enhance overall maintenance operations. The Reliability Engineer will be instrumental in implementing and monitoring key programs to improve equipment reliability, reduce maintenance costs, and optimize spare parts management, all while ensuring safety and machine performance.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conducting reliability assessments and failure analysis to identify issues within systems and processes.
- Developing and implementing predictive maintenance strategies
- Performing root cause analysis using FMECA, RCA, 8D and 5-Whys.
- Implement Reliability Centered Maintenance emphasizes the use of predictive and preventive maintenance.
- Leading continuous improvement efforts
- Providing training and support to the maintenance and operations staff
- Develop and maintain key reliability metrics and reports, providing insights to senior management.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 5 – 10 years of experience in manufacturing
- Proven understanding of lean manufacturing methodologies RCM, FMECA, and 5 Whys
- Excellent communication, teamwork and mentoring skills.
- Experience in strategic data analytics; specifically, aspects of machine reliability
- Experience with identifying, collecting, normalizing, and analyzing various types of data to minimize system failures and improve performance
- Experience using failure analysis (FRACAS) and other types of root cause analysis, in support of industrial facilities asset system
- Experience developing reliability test plans that represent the expected use environment and operational conditions
- Experience selecting, analyzing, and interpreting the results of various test methods to be used in sustainment planning
- Experience with machine probability and statistical tools to analyze machine health
- Experience with hypothesis testing, with a general familiarity of appropriate statistical models, as they relate to tolerance and confidence intervals
- Experience in creating process reliability requirements using reliability and design techniques such as FMEA, fault tolerance, optimization, Design of Experiments (DOE), and OEM supplied information and documentation
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Six Sigma Green Belt, preferred.
