GENERAL FUNCTION

This role is a key member of the team charged with managing product at Luxottica Retail Optical North America. Scope includes the assigned banner and related businesses in the U.S. and Canada. The objective of the role is to support growth of the retail business through run-the-business management of the Frames, Lenses, & Contact Lenses categories and implementation of growth initiatives.

The objective of the role is to grow the categories by executing a long-term product roadmap, managing launches of new products and ensuring stores have product knowledge and tools to sell frames, lenses and contact lenses effectively.

The Sr Manager supports their manager and partners with Corporate and peer teams to execute the merchandising strategies that maximize sales, margin, inventory turnover, and customer satisfaction while continuing to optimize by incorporating local market insights and feedback.

This position requires operational mindset, critical thinking, initiative, and drive, as well as experience in problem solving, product management, program planning, and implementation. This role also requires a technical understanding of the category assigned, familiarity with EssilorLuxottica network and supply chain, and ability to work with a global network of partners within and outside of the EssilorLuxottica Group.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead day-to-day strategy and operations of merchandising, identify and resolve issues
  • Manage, and often lead, cross-functional initiatives to test and commercialize new products and refresh existing product lines, as well as supply chain process improvement, serving as cross-functional liaison
  • Serve as subject matter expert on cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for improvements and to support store initiatives
  • Lead merchandising project implementation, including content requirements and accuracy for selling tools, training, customer-facing communications, product related doctor engagement, and others as needed
  • Track, evaluate and escalate common merchandising tool request from stores, and support resolution as needed
  • Conduct and lead advanced analytics to monitor results, capture trends, launch new products and provide insights to senior leadership
  • Manage and prioritize field team feedback and needs to enhance store and customer experience

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in retail, finance, marketing or related fields
  • Working knowledge of planning, buying and merchandising principles
  • Proficient computer skills, advanced Excel, merchandising and planning systems (DPM, RPAS, Planning Files, AFS1, and FMS1)
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and ability to collaborate
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and system
  • Knowledge of finance and accounting principles, able to communicate financial plans and results from a merchandise perspective
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills- able to extract conclusions from available data
  • 5+ years of work experience in retail planning, buying or merchandising

Pay Range: 125,776.80  - 183,615.60 

This posting is for an existing vacancy within our business. Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements. In addition, you may also be offered a competitive bonus and/or commission plan, which complements a first-class total rewards package.
