Your role

We are looking for a Quality and EHS Manager who will oversee and strengthen Quality and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) activities across Philippine Operations. This role is responsible for driving a strong quality culture across laboratory operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining quality management systems, and promoting a safe and sustainable working environment across all EPODI branches.

Main responsibilities:

Product Quality Assurance

• Ensure products and services meet required specifications and quality standards.
• Lead investigations and resolution of customer complaints, returns, and internal quality issues.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, and support teams to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Collect, analyze, and report internal quality data and customer return trends.
• Communicate quality performance updates to the Operations Head and relevant stakeholders.

Process Quality Control

• Oversee in-process inspections and final product validation to ensure compliance with Essilor and regulatory standards.
• Implement and monitor quality control tools and methodologies (QRQC, 8D, Fishbone, etc.).
• Ensure proper validation before commercial release of products.
• Monitor and maintain metrology and quality control equipment (e.g., spectrometers, focimeters).
• Support supplier quality monitoring and resolution of incoming material issues.

Quality Management System (QMS) Implementation

• Ensure compliance with local and global QMS standards.
• Support and lead internal quality audits and documentation control.
• Implement group policies and quality procedures at the local level.
• Maintain documentation and data required for Post Market Surveillance and regulatory compliance.

Medical Device Regulatory Support

• Oversee documentation and compliance related to local medical device regulations.
• Manage CAPA implementation, containment actions, and change documentation.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and regulatory standards within the quality function.

Training & Capability Development

• Manage and oversee the LOFT training program.
• Support skill matrix management and training plans across departments.

Environmental Health & Safety (EHS)

• Build and promote a positive safety culture across EPODI, particularly within Operations.
• Develop, implement, and monitor EHS programs aligned with regulatory standards.
• Lead investigations, reporting, and analysis of workplace incidents and emerging EHS risks.
• Review and enhance safety policies and procedures.

Main requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality and EHS roles, preferably within manufacturing or laboratory operations.
• Experience managing a Quality and/or EHS team is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of SPC, 7 QC tools, internal audits, and documentation control.
• Proficiency in quality methodologies such as 8D and Fishbone analysis.
• Familiarity with ISO standards and medical device regulatory requirements.
• Experience in Environmental Health & Safety and hazard management principles.
• Strong analytical, leadership, coordination, and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and collaborative in addressing quality and safety concerns.
• Proficient in MS Office and quality documentation systems.
• Willing to render overtime when necessary for audits, validations, or escalations.
• No travel required.
