GENERAL FUNCTION

Provide strategic and operational direction to meet the sales objectives. This role is responsible for corralling the sales team to maximize brand opportunities by partnering with the marketing team to commercialize strategy. The role will execute a business strategy that increase brand exposure and market penetration and develop solutions in a changing marketplace. This role is responsible for being a part of the Optical leadership team synergizing across a multitude of priorities including brand focus, business development, customer segmentation strategy and EssilorLuxottica commercial programs and responsible for leading and protecting the brand storytelling and positioning of brands in the field. This role is responsible for driving team performance in attaining sales targets as well as responsible for controlling the budget and expenses to achieve DOP targets for brands.


MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Manage a sales team population responsible for >150 million dollars in annual revenue.
- Partner with Brand Marketing in driving brand priorities and assortment across customers.
- Strategize among leadership team to drive synergistic brand strategies, rewards programs, and commercial initiatives.
- Facilitate ongoing partnership between brand marketing and sales team by taking corporate brand strategy/mission and create local field activation strategies (i.e. ensuring optimal distribution, brand story/messaging consistency, POP investments are properly utilized and leveraged, pricing and incentives are balanced to maintain brand equity and consumer demand).
- Identify and develop plans to support objectives such as image, productivity, RX growth etc.
- Responsible for implementing brand specific sales incentives for staff and accounts.
- Develop talent to ensure the right profile is in place for success.
- Partner closely with business development team to drive brand growth opportunities with top regional customers from Buying Groups/Doctor Alliances.
- Collaborate with team in driving commercial programs like EL360.
- Leverage key internal stakeholders to lead high-impact initiatives and business plans
- Foster strong communication of initiatives within team to build a strong sense of unity and brand purpose.
- Monitor customer, market and competitor activity and comes up with strategies with team.
- Develop targets for the team that aligns with forecasts of overall business.
- Provide input on all strategic sales plans and implementation. 
- Support the career development and management skills of team through ongoing training and development.
- Participate in all management meetings, conventions and on critical task forces to further key group objectives.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related area 
- 10+ years of sales management experience; experience in building and motivating a high performance sales team.

- Demonstrated ability to collaborate closely with brand marketing to commercialize brand activations and campaigns. 
- Outstanding commercial know-how and exceptional leadership capabilities
- Demonstrated strategic thinking 
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams
- Strong analytical skills
- A change agent with highly evolved influencing skills
- Excellent organization, communication and presentation skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working within wholesale channel of trade with many small independent customers 
- Optical industry experience

Pay Range: 179,143.55  - 284,627.88
