About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Production and Continuous Improvement Manager to lead our 24/7, make-to-order manufacturing operations. This pivotal role combines operational leadership with a strong focus on lean principles and process improvement. You will oversee daily production activities while championing initiatives to drive efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction in a high-mix, high-volume environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage daily manufacturing operations across all shifts, through a team of workshop managers, to ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective production.
Drive a culture of continuous improvement (CI) using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, and other CI tools, for the whole site.
Analyze production KPIs and identify opportunities for operational improvements, waste reduction, and throughput increase.
Collaborate with planning, maintenance, engineering, quality, and supply chain to ensure seamless end-to-end process flow.
Mentor and develop Workshop Managers and CI members; promote accountability and engagement on the shop floor.
Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Manage capacity planning, labor efficiency, and equipment utilization in alignment with fluctuating customer demand.
Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurring production issues or performance gaps.
Support digitalization and automation efforts to enhance productivity and data visibility.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related field (Master’s degree a plus).
Minimum 7 years of experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
Proven success managing production in a make-to-order or high-mix, high-volume manufacturing environment.
Strong experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar CI methodologies
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to thrive in a 24/7 operation, including flexibility to address off-shift or weekend challenges as needed.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience with ERP systems and production analytics.
