Position: Chemical Equipment Engineer

The concept prototype engineer is responsible for providing prototypes to validate the new concepts around thermoset lens manufacturing.
Your day in the GLI LSMT CP team
Within a team of 5~10 engineers based in Bangkok, your main responsibilities will cover the following:
- To develop prototype:
- To understand the process
- To write functional requirements
- To write technical specifications
- To design the prototype or to sub-contract it
- To assemble the prototype or to sub-contract it
- To manage the sub-contractors
- To validate the prototype
- To give the full technical folder to the industrialization team
- To consolidate innovations through innovation cards and patents
- To define realistic planning
- To define realistic business case
- To communicate with pairs and managers in an efficient way
- To support production:
- To develop and validate improvements of current process
- To validate new products
- To support analysis and actions in case of crisis
- To coordinate with other departments (production, safety, maintenance, …)
Your success in this position is measured by:
- Respecting the schedule
- Providing robust and relevant prototype matching with the needs
- Providing robust technical folder to the industrial team
- Providing regular innovation cards, ideally leading to patents
- Providing robust business cases that are confirmed at higher levels
Qualifications & Work Experience:
- Bachelor and/or Master degree in physico-chemistry
- Around 5 years of experience in equipment engineering
- General knowledge of equipment, fundamentals of hydraulics, fluids, monomer formulation and synthesis equipment
- Good English communication both written and spoken
- Possess good analytical skills & problem-solving skills
- Decision making, capacity to work under pressure, proactivity
- Interpersonal and communication skills
- Flexibility, honesty, autonomy
- Able to travel aboard when needed
