We are seeking a highly organised and commercially minded Supply Chain Manager to join Optimed, the Instruments division of Essilor. This division manages a diverse product portfolio ranging from eyecare consumables through to high-value medical equipment.

This pivotal role is responsible for overseeing end-to-end inventory management, ensuring optimal stock availability to meet customer demand while minimising excess, obsolete stock, and associated costs. You will play a critical role in driving forecasting accuracy, operational efficiency, and supply chain performance.

 

About the Role

Reporting into the business leadership team, you will take ownership of demand planning and inventory control across multiple locations. You will ensure alignment between sales forecasts, supplier planning, and stock management, while maintaining system accuracy and supporting business growth.

 

Your Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate inventory through regular counts, promptly resolve discrepancies, and ensure proper stock rotation and storage practices.
  • Monitor stock movements, coordinate replenishment, maintain optimal safety stock levels, and manage slow-moving, excess, and obsolete inventory..
  • Monitor stock movements including receipts, transfers, and dispatch while coordinating replenishment with procurement and warehouse teams, maintaining optimal safety stock levels, and managing slow-moving, excess, and obsolete inventory.
  • Lead demand planning to deliver accurate supplier forecasts, align purchasing plans with lead times and optimal freight methods, and support business decisions through data-driven insights.
  • Maintain accurate inventory data within ERP/CRM systems, produce reports on stock levels, turnover and variances, and analyse trends to improve forecasting and inventory performance.
  • Identify inefficiencies and implement improvements, develop and enforce inventory control policies and procedures, and support system enhancements and automation initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively across teams to support order fulfilment, maintain product availability, and effectively communicate risks and opportunities to stakeholder.

About You

You are a proactive and detail-oriented supply chain professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working cross-functionally.

 

You will bring:

  • Proven experience in demand planning and/or inventory control.
  • End-to-end supply chain understanding (forecasting, purchasing, stock control).
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse inventory practices.
  • Experience with ERP systems and inventory management tools.
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
  • Exposure to batch/lot tracking and expiry management (desirable)
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement capability
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and drive outcomes
