Your role:
The Senior Accountant plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records, as well as providing valuable insights to support strategic decision-making. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Your responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Local GAAP.
- Ensure timely and accurate closing of the books.
- Ensure the timely and accurate VAT declarations, including Intrastat.
- Support Tax consultants to prepare and file various tax returns and any other reports.
General Ledger Management:
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Perform account analysis and reconciliations.
- Ensure accuracy of financial data.
Audit and Compliance:
- Assist with internal and external audits.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Develop and maintain internal controls.
- Produce any internal reports compliant to Group procedures.
Team Leadership:
- Mentor and train junior accounting staff (remotely located in Italy).
- Review and approve journal entries and reconciliations.
- Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
Main requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA or CMA certification.
- Experience with financial reporting systems.
- Knowledge of tax laws and regulations.
