General Function:

Provides prompt and accurate technical support by performing the following duties.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Installs, repairs and performs maintenance on all Precision Optics CNC machinery.
  • Possesses ability to read and interpret hydraulic, electrical, PLC and pneumatic schematics.
  • Provides technical support to customers via travel and telephone support.
  • Assists customer service and shipping/receiving with part identification.
  • Maintains normal travel schedule which involves approximately 80% travel to customers and 20% office, trade shows, training and coordination meetings.
  • Provides prompt and accurate technical support via customer service phone calls.
  • Addresses customer issues in a timely manner.
  • Maintains ongoing contact with Field Service Manager to discuss scheduling.
  • Prepares expense reports.
  • Provides manuals and other documentation to customers upon request.
  • Attends trade shows and exhibitions.
  • Attends product/operations training in Wetzlar, Germany and Switzerland upon request.
  • Prepares customer trip and call reports.
  • Updates and maintains customer database.
  • Prepare Service Work Orders for all customer visits.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with multi axis CNC machinery.
  • Knowledge of optics industry and fabrication methods a plus.
  • Knowledge of Windows SIGHT program and Microsoft Access.
