JOB SCOPE:

To support innovation by intervening directly in R&D programs. To develop & anticipate the analytical means that are and will be necessary for the R&D. To participate in competitive analyses and therefore following the new ophthalmic developments. In addition, the Technician group supports operations and quality departments in solving many production issues or defining new defects or materials.

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain a high-level analysis service based essentially on advanced techniques in analytical chemistry as: identification, quantification, (based essentially on GC chromatography and infrared spectroscopy (Fourier transform in FTIR mode).
  • Take in charge the analysis of raw materials, finished lenses, competitor lenses.
  • Monitoring and maintain analytical equipment, and more particularly the Chromatography GC. 
  • Write, capitalize and regularly archive analysis reports in the form of Word or Power Point taking care to save them in the R&D Aodocs tool (in French or English). 
  • Increase its range of expertise through the acquisition of other analyses, such as: HPLC, LC/MS chromatography, NMR, EDX, AFM, etc., techniques that are available within the laboratory. 
  • Subcontract / identify external laboratories for TEM, NMR, GC, LC analyses
  • Gradually be able to take in charge some studies or R&D program

 

 CANDIDATE'S PROFILE:

  • Education the Chemical Analytical field: Higher National Diploma (Diploma Advanced Technician) or Bachelor of Sciences
  • Relevant 2-4 years’ experience & background in analytical chemistry field - identification, quantification, based essentially on GC chromatography or Nuclear Magnetic Resonance spectroscopy (NMR) 
  • Experience in maintenance & monitoring GC techniques, knowledge of the laboratory techniques in chemistry
  • Data analysis experience – analytical profile
  • Good command of MS Office (including Excel, PPT)
  • Very good English &French level
  • Strong sense of innovation
  • Communication & cooperation skills
  • Agile, adaptable and willing to learn profile - the need to deal with new challenges, to change the directions when needed, to implement new solutions/approaches)
  • Open-minded profile
