Your role:

We are looking for a Head of Accounting - Nordics to play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and integrity of our statutory financial reporting. You will act as a trusted accounting expert, partnering closely with tax advisors, shared services, and internal stakeholders, while contributing to continuous improvement of processes and controls.

This role offers strong exposure to local GAAP reporting, tax compliance, audits, and cross‑border collaboration, making it ideal for a hands-on senior accountant who enjoys ownership and autonomy in a fast‑paced international environment.

 

Main responsibilities:

Financial & Statutory Reporting

  • Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Local GAAP
  • Ensure timely and accurate month‑end and year‑end closings
  • Manage VAT declarations, including Intrastat reporting, ensuring accuracy and deadlines are met
  • Liaise with external tax consultants, supporting the preparation and filing of tax returns and statutory reports

General Ledger & Accounting Excellence

  • Own and maintain general ledger accounts, ensuring accurate postings
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and in‑depth account analysis
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies, ensuring high data quality

Audit, Compliance & Internal Control

  • Actively support internal and external audits
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, group policies, and accounting standards
  • Contribute to the development, documentation, and enhancement of internal controls
  • Produce internal reporting aligned with Group procedures and timelines

Team Collaboration & Leadership

  • Manage a team of two accountants across the region
  • Drive service quality with the Shared Services Center located in Italy
  • Review and validate journal entries and reconciliations
  • Support the evolution of accounting policies, procedures, and best practices

 

Main requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent
  • At least 8 years of experience in statutory accounting, audit, or similar environments
  • Solid understanding of Local GAAP and statutory requirements
  • Strong analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar)
  • Confident communicator with the ability to collaborate across functions and cultures
  • Comfortable working independently while also contributing to team success
  • Fluent English; Swedish or Danish is strongly preferred
