General Function:

This sales representative will be capable of articulating and communicating an idea, believes in taking care of the customer, and can prepare and give Microsoft Power Point presentations to small groups of people. RX experience and understanding of basic manufacturing principles is a plus. Must be able to travel. Must be energetic, motivated, with a track record of discipline and self motivation.  

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Promote the use of Satisloh consumable products and supplies it distributes to:
    • Wholesale Optical Laboratories
    • Retail Chains with optical laboratories
    • Independent retailers with interest in lens processing equipment
  • Discover and qualify sales prospects and communicate them rapidly to the Satisloh sales department for entry into our database.
  • Develop relationship with prospects and periodically follow up on sale opportunities.
  • Distribute necessary literature, analyzes, and other sales media to these prospects to advance selling opportunities.
  • Understand and explain the benefits of using the consumables and supplies distributed by Satisloh to our customers.
  • Identify undiscovered opportunities to sell to customers to enhance their experience with Satisloh equipment.
  • Support selling efforts of other Satisloh personnel in your territory.
  • Respond to new and prospective customers in a timely and professional manner.
  • Close on sales in your territory and manage the after sale support.
  • Maintain and further enhance the relationship of customers and Satisloh after closing on sales.
  • Respond to the administrative requirements of the Satisloh sales team.
  • Attend trade shows and manage sales and participation of customers from the Western region as well as other territories during these trade shows.
  • Work cooperatively with other Satisloh entities for global trade compliance.
  • Support trade departments at our domestic sister companies.
  • Stay informed of changes in trade policy.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years experience in the Ophthalmic or Precision Optics industry
  • Associates degree or 2 year technical degree preferred. Will consider experience in lieu of degree.
  • High school degree or GED required.
  • Ability to travel
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Access, Word and Power Point
  • Experience researching, developing, and delivering presentations to small groups.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong organization
  • Self-motivated
  • Able to articulate information on products to those not familiar with Optical industry
