Position: Utility Engineer
Location: Transitions Optical (Thailand) Limited - TOTL, Amata, Chonburi
Reporting Manager: Facility-Utility Section Manager
The Utility Engineer primary function is to ensure planning and coordinating activities and services relating to building and equipment maintenance and facility costs, supervising the team of Utility shift technicians. The incumbent also supports improvements to meet required KPIs of safety, Utility uptime, PM (Preventive Maintenance), energy savings, GMP, costs etc. through mid to long term projects. The Utility Engineer facilitates benchmarking studies and promotes the sharing of best practices while ensuring compliance with all EH&S and regulatory policies.
The incumbent may interface with Utility Techno club, TOTL Operations teams (EH&S, Quality, Line Engineers, Production, Maintenance, Mix Lab, Logistics, IT), TOTL plant management, and in some cases auditors, contractors, vendors and suppliers, in order to execute projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plans preventive maintenance schedules of plant equipment and structures in accordance with production schedules, to ensure equipment performs safely and optimally.
- Estimate, coordinate, and plan issuance and completion of maintenance work orders.
- Coordinates and supervises installation and commissioning of plant and equipment, including mechanical and electrical utilities/ Utility as needed
- Proposes modifications and/ or implements new plant equipment to meet specific production requirements, improve existing processes, reduce operating costs and ensure production output. Provides specifications and investigates alternatives.
- Makes continuous assessment of suitability of existing plant and building equipment for current and future requirements.
- Ensure that all of the required documents & systems are in place to meet ISO 9k & 14k, 50k requirement.
- Supports identification of qualified contractors in the various discipline i.e. mechanical, electrical, plumbing and supervision during contractor work on site
- Facilitates benchmarking studies and promotes the sharing of best practices while ensuring compliance with all EH&S and regulatory policies.
- Manage and monitoring Utility equipment spare part inventory and non-inventory system to ensure all spare spat are in place.
- Schedule Issue performance via monthly report basis.
PRE-REQUISITES/QUALIFICATION:
- Diploma or Degree qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering or in a related engineering discipline.
- 5 to 10 years experience in a high volume manufacturing environment. Experience in high technology, production environment and practical experience maintaining equipment, including air handling equipment, chilled water systems and clean rooms.
- Experience in planning and scheduling daily work activities in a maintenance or Utility department.
- Computer literate in Microsoft Office products.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Desire:
- Solid work or CAD software related.
- Maintenance Software Program experience.
- Solve problems: Use problem solving techniques to minimize equipment downtime.
