Your day as a Capacity Planning Engineer:
The Capacity Planning Engineer is responsible for analyzing, planning, and optimizing production capacity and resources to ensure efficient operations and support business growth. This role focuses on continuous improvement, process optimization, and strategic planning through data-driven methodologies and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Capacity Planning & Analysis
■ Develop and implement capacity and resource planning models and methodologies.
■ Conduct time studies to determine standard times, machine capacity, and cycle times across production areas.
■ Monitor and improve plant performance metrics such as Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) or Equipment Efficiency Rate (EER).
■ Design and optimize plant layouts, ensuring efficient flow of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
Process Improvement & Optimisation
■ Lead and execute continuous improvement projects using Lean, Kaizen, and Six Sigma methodologies.
■ Utilize Value Stream Mapping (VSM) to identify and eliminate non-value-added activities and reduce lead times.
■ Establish standardised work procedures, line balancing, and process flow improvements to meet productivity targets.
■ Support urgent production issues with root cause analysis and long-term corrective actions.
Collaboration & Technical Support
■ Work closely with Production, NP&I, and Quality teams to ensure optimal line layouts and machine utilisation.
■ Support industrial engineering simulations for process, layout, and resource optimization.
■ Provide technical training, mentor team members, and facilitate Kaizen events and benchmarking activities.
What do we ask from you:
Required Qualifications
■ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering.
■ Minimum 3 years of experience in capacity planning or industrial engineer
■ Good in English, able to communicate effectively both written and spoken.
■ Proficient in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
■ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
■ Systematic thinking, good analytics, self-motivation and high responsibility.
Preferable qualifications
■ Having the ability to use the FlexSim program will be given special consideration
■ Overseas working experience and/or working experience in a Western company is preferable.
■ A TOEIC score above 700 or a similar English proficiency test result is preferable.
■ Background in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Kaizen Data analysis s preferable
