Your day as an Assistant Production Manager:

As an Assistant Production Manager, you will be responsible for leading production operations to achieve safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost targets. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to optimize production performance, ensure regulatory and ISO compliance, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and develop a high-performing production team that supports business growth and operational excellence.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

Production Management & Performance

    ■ Manage and execute production plans to ensure production targets, capacity requirements, and business objectives are achieved.

    ■ Monitor production performance, analyze operational results, and implement corrective and preventive actions to improve efficiency and productivity.

    ■ Ensure achievement of quality, productivity, delivery, cost, absenteeism, and overtime targets in line with budget and operational objectives.

    ■ Coordinate with cross-functional teams to optimize the use of manpower, materials, equipment, and production resources.

Continuous Improvement & Project Management

    ■ Drive Continuous Improvement initiatives through Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and other operational excellence methodologies.

    ■ Support successful implementation of CAP projects, new product introductions, and strategic operational initiatives.

    ■ Lead or participate in local and regional projects to achieve agreed objectives, timelines, and business results.

    ■ Identify process improvement opportunities and develop action plans to enhance operational performance.

Compliance, Quality & Safety

    ■ Ensure strict compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company requirements, including ISO13485, ISO45001, ISO14001, ISO50001, SA8000, and other relevant standards.

    ■ Ensure all production activities comply with SOPs, PCPs, standardized work instructions, and quality system requirements.

    ■ Support and manage internal, external, customer, and certification audits. 

    ■ Promote and enforce Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and practices throughout production operations.

People Management & Leadership

    ■ Lead, motivate, and develop the production team to achieve individual and team objectives.

    ■ Define OKRs and performance objectives for Production Supervisors and team members. 

    ■ Conduct performance reviews, provide coaching and mentoring, and develop training and succession plans.

    ■ Recognize high performance and address performance issues through effective people management practices.

    ■ Promote effective communication and cascade corporate, regional, and site information across the organization.

Collaboration & Communication

    ■ Coordinate closely with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering, Technical Support, and other departments to achieve business goals.

    ■ Support plant-wide communication and foster collaboration, teamwork, and alignment toward common objectives.

    ■ Promote EssilorLuxottica's culture, values, and operational excellence mindset.

 

 

What do we ask from you:
Required Qualifications

■ Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
■ Minimum 5 years of experience in production, manufacturing, or operations functions within multinational manufacturing environments.
■ At least 3 years of experience in a supervisory or management role.
■ Good command of English, both written and spoken.
■ Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
■ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
■ Strong leadership and people management capabilities.

 

Preferable qualifications
■ Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Financial Analysis.
■ Proven experience in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or other Continuous Improvement methodologies.
■ Experience in performance management, coaching, and employee development.
■ Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and production planning processes.
■ Understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control systems, cost management, and production optimization techniques.
■ Experience working in multinational or international manufacturing environments.
