The Sales Manager Export leads a team of Key Account Managers to develop Omega Optix’s international business across priority markets. The role ensures execution of regional commercial strategies, drives performance management, strengthens partner and distributor relationships, and acts as the strategic link between the export team and internal functions. The Export Sales Manager designs market approaches, coordinates stakeholders, optimises commercial processes, and ensures consistent delivery of the company’s growth ambitions.

 

Areas of responsibilities and related activities

 

Commercial Strategy & Policy Execution

• Translates company strategy into actionable sales plans and measurable objectives for the market; defines, implements and refines export sales strategies in alignment with corporate objectives.
• Ensures successful implementation and execution of commercial policies in line with global guidelines.
• Conducts market analysis, including market trends, customer insights and competitive intelligence, to anticipate developments and adjust priorities accordingly.
• Sets revenue targets by region and monitors progress via structured tracking and KPIs.

Team Leadership & Performance Management

  • Leads and motivates the Export sales team to achieve high performance and deliver results.
  • Sets clear targets, monitors progress and provides regular feedback to team members.
  • Ensure consistent execution of sales methodologies, CRM discipline and account planning practices.
  • Supports professional development through training and sharing best practices.

Business Development, Partner & Market Expansion

  • Strengthens relationships with existing customers, distributors, partners and initiates partnerships with new prospects, support complex negotiations and escalations.
  • Identifies and develops new commercial opportunities to increase revenue and market share.
  • Establish and drive joint business plans (JBP) with clear objectives, scorecards and regular review cadence.
  • Coordinate local agents, including target setting, enablement and performance reviews.
  • Acts as the primary contact for top customers and strategic partners.

Sales Planning, Forecasting & Operational Excellence

  • Prepares and manage annual, quarterly, and monthly sales plans and ensures alignment with business objectives.
  • Provides accurate forecasts and reports on sales performance, market trends, and team activities.
  • Own forecast accuracy, pipeline health, pricing governance and budget adherence for the Export sales team.
  • Manages budget effectively to support strategic priorities.
  • Ensure compliance with internal processes, export regulations and manage risk and credit exposure.
  • Continuously improve tools, processes and ways of working to enhance efficiency and scalability.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Act as the main interface with Marketing, Finance, CIC, Production and Logistics to ensure execution of market-specific plans.
  • Consolidate market feedback to inform product, pricing and service improvements.
  • Lead S&OP inputs for demand planning and capacity alignment.

Brand Representation & Compliance

  • Promote company values, mission and brand image in all interactions, including representation at international fairs, exhibitions and customer events.
  • Ensures compliance with corporate policies, ethical standards, and legal regulations.
  • Fulfils other tasks as assigned by the direct manager, based on current business needs.

 

Skills and competencies 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business/marketing (or equivalent).
  • Minimum 10 years in Sales and at least 3 years as a Sales Manager (B2B or B2C), preferably with branded goods and retail market exposure.
  • Experience from an international company is a strong plus.
  • Strong leadership and team management; ability to build trust and positive team mindset.
  • Strategic thinking combined with hands-on, solution-oriented approach.
  • Customer orientation; strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Solid grasp of market dynamics and sales performance indicators.
  • CRM proficiency (prospecting, forecasting, analysis, pipeline/territory management).
  • Understanding of optical principles and how our products address them.
  • Sales force management and disciplined execution.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
  • Languages: English – advanced; German, Italian, French - advantage
