We are looking for Maintenance Equipment Engineering Controls Supervisor to manage and maintain the automation and control systems within our manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for overseeing the installation, troubleshooting, and optimization of systems including PLCs, HMIs, motion control, robotics, vision systems, lasers, sensors, motor drives, and control panels.
The Controls Supervisor ensures that all automated systems operate reliably and efficiently to meet production, quality, and safety objectives. This position leads a team of controls engineers and technicians, collaborating closely with engineering, production, and IT teams to implement upgrades, enhance system performance, and support the integration of new equipment.
Main Responsibilities:
· Oversees installation, programming, and maintenance of control systems for lens manufacturing equipment.
· Leads and develops a team of Controls Technicians and Engineers.
· Ensures efficient operation of PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and motion controls to meet production goals.
· Troubleshoots issues to minimize downtime and maintain product quality.
· Optimizes system performance, reliability, and energy efficiency.
· Maintains accurate documentation and backups of control systems.
· Collaborates with cross-functional teams on continuous improvement initiatives.
· Ensures compliance with safety standards, company policies, and regulations.
· Coordinates with vendors for system upgrades and technical support.
· Supports automation and control integration in capital projects.
A Portrait of a Perfect Candidate
· More than 5 years of experience programming and troubleshooting PLCs and HMIs (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
· Hands-on experience with automated lens manufacturing equipment.
· Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex control system issues quickly.
· Experience integrating new machines into existing control systems.
· More than 3 years of leadership experience managing controls engineers and technicians.
· Knowledge of quality standards and maintaining accurate system documentation.
· Strong understanding of electrical safety and adherence to safe work practices.
· Effective collaboration with production, quality, maintenance, and external suppliers.
· Participation in control system upgrades and automation projects.
