Your Role:

 

We are looking for an Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Engineer to plan, implement, and measure programs in areas such as environmental and waste management, chemical safety, industrial hygiene, ESH legal compliance, risk reduction (HIRAC), machine safety, safety equipment management, management of change, and safety inspections. The role also involves acting as the Safety and Pollution Control Officer, leading cost-saving initiatives focused on environmental and waste management as part of the company's sustainability and continuous improvement programs. The EHS Engineer will provide technical advice to production personnel on safety matters and implement ESH objectives, programs, policies, and procedures.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Implements and monitors the environmental management program and key performance indicators. Controls records and maintains the system in compliance with applicable regulatory agencies (DENR, OSHC, LLDA, etc.) and ISO/OHSAS requirements.
  • Develops and implements the Chemical Management Program in accordance with national and international regulations. Assesses and evaluates new chemicals, inspects and reviews storage areas, and implements the Globally Harmonized System.
  • Implements and initiates improvements to the company's Industrial Hygiene Program. Facilitates measurements and monitors internal and external work environment conditions as required by DOLE OSH Standards and other international standards, including ergonomics assessments.
  • Prepares, submits, and monitors mandatory reports for regulatory agencies (DENR, LLDA, PEZA, etc.). Facilitates all ESH-related permit applications, conducts internal legal compliance audits, and implements a legal compliance monitoring program.
  • Facilitates hazard and aspect identification, as well as impact and risk evaluation (HIRAC). Organizes HIRAC reviews, monitors actions for risk reduction, and ensures the application of the hierarchy of controls.
  • Establishes and implements a machine safety program, including the Control of Hazardous Energy Program. Assists in process and machine setup, and conducts machine safety validation, acceptance, and inspection.
  • Ensures the proper working condition of safety equipment by conducting inspections and implementing a preventive maintenance program. Facilitates the registration of new safety equipment and conducts annual asset inventories of all safety devices and equipment. Initiates projects and programs for optimizing safety equipment.
  • Ensures that all critical changes are managed through the Management of Change process and implements standard procedures, serving as the Management of Change system owner.

 

A Portrait of a Perfect Candidate

  • Licensed Engineer with a technical background in Engineering, Environmental Science, or Chemistry.
  • Accredited OSH practitioner/PCO.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS).
  • Technical Skills includes:
    • Management System Auditing
    • Technical Writing
    • Project Management
  • Has strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Proficient in MS Applications for various tasks and presentations.
