Your role
We are looking for a Global Category Manager Wereables who will join our Sourcing Department.
The candidate will be the Sourcing Lead for a strategic Wearable project at the heart of the collaboration between EssilorLuxottica and one of the most important Big Tech Companies.
He/She will be involved in the project since the very beginning in the development phase to the Mass Production launch and managing then the Sustaining phase of the project for the sourcing activities across assigned categories (ME/EE/EM/Finished Products|JDM/ODM /Display & Optics/Equipments). The candidate will be responsible for developing and executing all the sourcing related activities for supporting the product development phase, production ramp-up, mass production and business requirement working in alignment with the global sourcing wearable strategy and according to the responsibilities defined with the partnering Company.
He/She will work cross functionally building up and developing proper supplier base, improving suppliers service and quality, identifying and executing cost reduction initiatives for the assigned categories. The candidate will be part of a multifunctional and international team to support the development of an industrial facility and prepare it to be ready to produce a consumer electronics device with the proper cost, supplier base and excellent quality, respecting the timelines defined by the partnership. After that to support mass production/sustaining phase and guarantee the best performance of the outsourcing flow from a cost, service, quality and sustainability standpoint.
Main responsibilities:
• Working with global team in developing and executing sourcing strategy according to business strategy requirement.
• New supplier evaluation and introduction.
• Setting up a global supplier base identifying best areas to guarantee competitive advantages, technical/quality requirement, service, supply sustainability.
• Coordinates purchasing activities across Operations functions to guarantee inventory in a cost effective and timely manner
• Sourcing industrial materials categories, mechanical and electronics components, equipment, finished products, indirect materials for manufacturing, ensuring effective supply and services availabilities for operation and business growth.
• Supplier base optimization, monitor supplier performance and evaluation, initiate supplier improvement program.
• Total cost of ownership approach to guarantee best competitive sourcing to the Company.
• Cost reduction plan development across categories and implementation.
• Negotiation with local / global suppliers to achieve targeted commercial conditions.
• Support cross functional projects to improve service, quality, NPI requirements and cost.
• Provide reporting on areas of sourcing, supply, spend and PPV reports
Main requirements:
• Educational Background in Engineering
• At least 5 years of experience in Sourcing Management in multinational company
• Strong analytical and negotiation skills
• Solid experience with Office 365, MS project, Google docs
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Scientific approach
• Good knowledge in finance and contract management is advantageous.
• Excellent relationship and influencing skills
• Fluent English
• Availability to travel across Italy, in Europe, US and Asia
• Previous experience in Consumer Electronics Multinational Companies.
