GENERAL FUNCTION
The VPFS Designate is responsible for achieving sales objectives and growing sales volume for Walman Optical in assigned accounts within an assigned geographic territory as well as focusing 20 – 25%% of time on management activities. They are also responsible for acquisition and growth of their independent ECP’s business and loyalty through the positioning and delivery of premium branded products, divisional marketing strategies, consumer initiatives, service excellence and technical superiority. As a VPFS Designate, you will lead your peers the by sharing proven techniques for success and partnering with the VP Regional Field Sales to provide coaching, feedback and guidance to account managers. You will be exposed to all facets of management including, but not limited to, managing top performers, conducting performance reviews, creating coaching and development plans, participating in the recruiting process, leading team calls, and learning how to influence a sales force.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Continuation of primary lab sales consultant activities as detailed in the Account Manager job description
Meeting or exceeding the standards set forth in the EL “Performance Planning & Review” and the Sales Group “Standards of Performance”
Responsible for successful management of 2-3 sales consultants in a “Mini Region” alignment
Responsible for demonstrating the ability to coach and provide leadership support for account managers
Assist the VPFS in developing individual coaching and development plans for assigned account managers
Responsible for demonstrating the ability to analyze and use sales and marketing reports and metrics to grow sales in assigned territories
Assists VPFS with team calls and biweekly 1:1’s with account managers
Partners with VPFS to build agenda, content and co lead sales meetings
Reviews and provides coaching on monthly reports with account managers
Responsible for participating in joint lab and sales meetings to review overall performance and customer issues
Participates in field rides with account managers with demonstrated coaching feedback
Participates in the management training programs offered through Talent Management
Participates in recruiting events and the interview process as well as works with HR and VPFS to receive formal interview training.
Attends management meetings and trainings
Works with VPFS to understand and learn the administrative aspects of the VPFS including, but not limited to, AIFs, territory assignment changes, monthly reports, rebates and marketing program execution.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have at least 3-yrs+ of field experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Must have proven consistent track record of performance
- Must be able to travel overnight up to 50% and potentially relocate
- Demonstrated computer and analytical skills
- Must have strong product knowledge
