GENERAL FUNCTION
The Senior Analyst is responsible for implementing, executing and supporting routine and ad hoc reporting design and execution required to meet internal and external needs. The Senior Analyst will perform specialized tasks and collaborate cross-functionally to gather requirements, make recommendations, solicit feedback, troubleshoot, and improve reports and analysis.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Designs, builds, validates and implements new reports by collaborating with stakeholders and business users to define, clarify and document requirements. Provide recommendations and guidance on necessary data elements, custom logic, formatting and layout, procedural standards and operational efficiency.
- Partners with the Business Intelligence team when data acquisition needs for new or modified reports require consulting on data architecture, or new or modified elements/logic in Business Objects universes.
- Manages delivery of existing client reporting and provider reporting inventory, as assigned, ensuring that standards are met for quality and timely delivery.
- Provides first line support for troubleshooting, follow-up questions or analysis, and data integrity concerns, including identification of root causes and countermeasures, and sizing, characterization and communication of impacts.
- Supports data integrity and governance initiatives by embedding and adhering to best practices within reporting and analytics tasks.
- Assists with knowledge management initiatives by understanding, documenting, and maintaining data definitions, reporting requirements and performance standards.
- Provides backup support for routine and priority tasks and projects as needed.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in an analytical/technical field, or equivalent education or work experience
- 4+ years of experience focused on data analytics, reporting and visualization
- Experience with cleansing, integrating and analyzing large and complex data sets
- Expertise in business or health informatics, data architecture and pipeline/ETL
- Proficiency in Business Objects (or similar GUI reporting platforms), SQL and Excel
- Strong balance of business, analytics and technology acumen
- Superior communication, critical thinking, problem solving and project management skills
- High accountability, learning agility and attention to detail
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Programming experience in R, Python or SAS
- Experience with Facets in a managed care setting
- Experience with Medicare and/or Medicaid programs and reporting
- Experience with health provider and network data elements
