GENERAL FUNCTION

The Regulatory Specialist will provide general regulatory support to the Regulatory team, specifically with all new Sales and Renewing clients. The Regulatory Specialist will process all new sales documentation for review by our Insurance Underwriter. The Regulatory Specialist will also support the EyeMed Medical Director in providing Continuing Education courses. 

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review all Insurance Applications for compliance with State Insurance regulations, including, assess that the most current forms were utilized, review all information to determine completion.
  • Prepare all completed New Sales packets and send for processing of New insurance documentation; track all such transmittals; handle any follow-up inquiries.
  • Research across multiple systems to obtain necessary information regarding all new Sales and current clients.
  • Draft documents, including but not limited to state specific insurance master policies, certificates, and notices specific to clients benefits and other applicable insurance related documents.
  • Assist in maintaining the Legal database and current project list/information tracking and engage with Sales/Account Management team to bring to resolution.
  • Respond to requests for information from sales/service team and new/existing client or direct to appropriate person or other employees for assistance.
  • Assist with processing all new sales and existing client insurance and contract documents into our Sales System and Document Management System.
  • Assist with managing, maintaining and adapting state specific underwriter documents. Advises manager of inconsistencies, legal problems or issues in underwriter documents.
  • Prepare legal notices regarding renewal, non-renewal, default or termination letters/documents related to client matter.
  • Provide support to the EyeMed Medical Director as they deliver to Brokers; maintain CE spreadsheet, monitor deadlines & submission of attendee credit and preparation of certificates of completion.
  • Perform research on state CE requirements to ensure Continuing Education meets those requirements
  • Responsible to apply for CE courses and CE Providers in required states and renewals as needed.
  • Assist in review of compliance bulletins from underwriters.
  • Provide general team support, i.e. maintaining client files, contract status tracking, Sales System support, file clean up, draft internal and external correspondence as appropriate. Anticipates and follows up on requests and issues with a proactive, problem-solving approach. 

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years regulatory experience
  • Strong communication skills cross functionally and across multiple levels
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills, and ability to balance multiple tasks.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Demonstrates a strong sense of urgency and is proactive
  • Ability to work independently, maintaining high level of confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Regulated industry experience (e.g., insurance, banking, compliance, healthcare)
  • Paralegal certification
