Position: EHS Engineer

Location: Latkrabang , Bangkok

Mission;

• • Plans, implements and measures programs particularly on the following: Environmental and waste management, Chemical Safety, Industrial Hygiene, ESH Legal Compliance, Risk Reduction (HIRAC), Machine Safety, Safety Equipment Management, Management of Change and Safety Inspections.
  • Serves as Safety and Pollution Control Officer. Spearheads cost-saving initiatives especially on environment and waste management as part of Sustainability and Continuous improvement program of the company.
  • Provides technical advices to production personnel on safety matters.
  • Implements ESH objectives, programs, policies and procedures.

Main responsibilities;

• Environmental and Waste Management

Implements and monitors environmental management program and key performance indicators. Controls records and maintains its system in compliance with applicable Regulatory Agencies and ISO requirements. Serves as Pollution Control Officer. Initiates environment-preservation/pollution control projects

• Chemical Safety

Develops and implements Chemical Management Program in accordance to national and international regulations. Assess, evaluates new chemicals, and inspects/reviews storage areas, implements Globally Harmonized System.

• Industrial Hygiene

Implements and initiates improvement on Industrial Hygiene Program of the company. Facilitates measurements and monitors internal and external work environment conditions as required by Thailand and Essilor Luxottica  Standards and other international standards as deemed necessary, including Ergonomics assessment

• Legal Compliance

Prepares, submits and monitors mandatory reports for Regulatory agencies.Facilitates all ESH-related permit applications; conducts internal legal compliance audits, implements legal compliance monitoring program.

• Risk Reduction

Facilitates hazard/aspect identification and impact/risk evaluation (HIRAC). Organizes review of HIRAC and monitors action for risk reduction, ensures application of hierarchy of controls.

• Machine Safety

Establishes and implements machine safety program including Control of Hazardous Energy Program. Assists in process and machine set-up and conducts machine safety validation/acceptance and inspection.

• Safety Equipment Management

Ensures good working condition of safety equipment. Conducts inspection and implements preventive maintenance program. Facilitates registration of new safety equipment. Conducts annual asset inventory of all safety devices/equipment. Initiates projects/program for safety equipment optimization

• Management of Change

Ensures that all critical changes are covered with Management of Change and implements standard procedure; serves as Management of Change system owner.

• ESH Common activities

ISO Management System; Permit to Work System; incident investigation; risks assessments and management of change; regular ESH walkabouts, inspections or audits; ESH trainings and orientation to new or existing employees and contractors. Gas testing prior to contractors’ activities especially hot works and confined space entry. Liaises with government agencies/regulatory bodies related to the practice of OSH or EHS.

Provide safety training for new employees of each month

Technical Skills and Professional Knowledge;

• Good working knowledge of English (read, write, speak w/ ease)
• Licensed Engineer, Technical Background: Engineering
• Environmental Science, Chemistry
• Accredited OSH practitioner
• At least 5 years experience in EHS
