Lead the definition, planning, and execution of the product roadmap for the Anterior Segment Product category, aligned with the company's global vision, to maximize medical, commercial, and technological impact in global markets.

Within the Essilor Instruments department, you will join the Global Product Roadmap team covering the Anterior Segment Product category for Optometry and Ophthalmology worldwide. Our team is responsible for the long-term product roadmap as well as current product portfolio management, with key impacts on the success of the division. The Product Roadmap Manager leads a team of two Product Managers covering a large product portfolio.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Strategic Analysis

  • Analyze market, clinical, technological, and regulatory trends.
  • Conduct active competitive intelligence.
  • Identify unmet needs of healthcare professionals and patients.

 

Upstream Marketing

  • Lead the product roadmap under her/his responsibility.
  • Provide market segmentation, use cases, customer needs, product requirements, and market demands to support the product development and improvement process.
  • Participate in defining and specifying new products and business models through analysis of market needs, discussions with KOLs, and development of business plans.
  • Represent the customer (optometrists, sales, regions, and service) in project teams.

 

Downstream Marketing

  • Support global sales team for existing or new product launches: pricing, distribution and positioning strategy, content for launch messaging, sales training materials, key international conferences and industry events, white papers, promotional campaigns, and point of sale collateral materials.
  • Teamwork with Marcom team to co-develop marketing assets.
  • Monitor performance trends. Gather market data from all sales organizations and customers worldwide to accurately estimate demand and propose sales targets and product improvement opportunities.

 

Product Lifecycle Management

  • Coordinate new product launches with R&D, Regulatory, Medical Affairs, and Marketing teams.
  • Monitor product performance across markets.
  • Recommend product line updates, repositioning, or discontinuations based on lifecycle analysis.

 

Team Management

  • Lead and develop a team of highly skilled Product Managers responsible for the Anterior Segment portfolio.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and performance evaluations to support their growth and success.

 

Internal Coordination

  • Collaborate closely with sales teams to integrate market feedback.
  • Support regulatory teams with documentation for market authorization.
  • Provide Marketing and Communications with strategic messaging and differentiation guidelines.

 

Contribution to Business Development

  • Support strategic partnerships and business development initiatives.
  • Represent the company at industry events, congresses, and trade shows.


 

Skills and Experience.

 

Experience:

  • 10 years’ experience in marketing preferably in the Eye Care/Medtech industry
  • 5 years’ experience of team management, preferably in a large global environment.
  • 5+ years of experience in product roadmap management, product strategy, or strategic marketing.
  • Experience in medical devices is highly preferred (knowledge of MDR, FDA regulations).
  • Experience and knowledge of the Optometry/Ophthalmology instruments market: competition, test protocols, diseases and treatments.
  • Fluent English required. French is a plus.
