Position: Line Process Engineer
Location: Transitions Optical, Amata, Chonburi
Reporting Manager: Line Process Engineer Supervisor / Engineering Manager
Line Process Engineer provides engineering support within the Trans-Bonding production process (chemical coating process in cleanroom) in order to lead a continuous improvement in the existing process, equipment, and manufacturing procedures. He/she performs daily monitoring of process performance and organizes members of Engineering, Quality and Production to correct issues and improve the process. Ensure optimum performance level of lines equipment and machines.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Production Support:
- Monitors, charts and reviews production performance specifically on yield, process capability, coating thickness within the designated area of responsibility or specialization.
- Ensures production yield is on defined target and that issues are contained, resolved and effective actions are implemented. Line Engineer to generate report and document defined process controls.
- Real-time coordination with Maintenance/ Production on equipments issues to ensure that yield and productivity KPIs are met. Line Engineers to work closely with Maintenance/ Production in resolving issues, making follow ups on equipments status and providing updates to internal customer.
- Analysis of process capability defects. Use capability database to identify areas for yield improvement. Close coordination with Quality team on process capability performance.
Equipment/Process Improvements:
- Executes tests/experiments to validate issues and provide concept/proposal on resolution of issues. Line Engineer to coordinate with Technology Engineer the hypothesis and defined proposal.
- Provides strong support to other groups’ project with aim of improving yield, productivity, up-time, and process control stability.
- Works with Maintenance/ Production to develop and implement improvement options to address chronic downtime issues and support cycle time improvements.
- Provides update on the effectiveness of any equipment and process change.
Management of Change:
- Follow all procedures for issuing of MOC’s and Change Notices as needed
- Update process control documents and related ISO documents for any change based on process/equipment validations and improvements.
- Strongly support validations for process changes, new products, equipment changes and required documentation as needed.
PRE-REQUISITES/QUALIFICATION:

Bachelors degree, equivalent experience or higher in Electrical / Mechanical / Industrialization, Chemical Engineering or related field.

Minimum of 4 years experience in a high volume manufacturing facility with direct responsibility of process improvements.

Intellectually sharp, capable and can conceptualize systems and solutions

Proficient on operations and maintenance of production processes, and can explain the scientific and engineering theories behind the various processes.

Capable of performing analysis for any type of production data using descriptive and enumerative statistical methods.

Proficient in the use of computer applications such as Microsoft Office applications and statistical analysis software.

Good command in spoken and written English; experience with the creation of technical reports and ISO documents.

Pursues line improvement projects with energy, drive and a need to finish.

Application of problem solving technique in resolving chronic issues.

Experience in research and development skill is preferable.
