Your role
The EMEA Lens Wholesale Marketing team is looking for an experienced and talented Marketing Leader to take the responsibility to develop the Myopia / Myopia Control key strategic category and portfolio of brands in the EMEA region for the Wholesale Division. Reporting to VP Marketing EMEA and in strong collaboration with the Myopia Group organization.
Main Responsabilities
Main opportunities & challenges to overcome:
- Raise awareness about the myopia epidemy in EMEA region and propose innovative solutions to correct & overcome the progression of myopia in kids and young adults.
- Develop the myopia control category, with a key focus on prescription generations (Ophtalmologists, Optometrists) and Opticians upskill (in-practice myopia management) and via consumer communications.
- Work cross-categories (Lenses, Instruments, Frames....) to build the best offer for myopia management
- Anticipate category development (Regulatory environment, Social security …) and increasing competitive pressure to ensure EssilorLuxottica’s superiority and leadership in the region.
Main R&Rs:
- Develop and implement the full myopia strategic roadmap in the EMEA region, in line with the Group Myopia Roadmap providing clear guidelines to the EMEA Markets on local execution (Growth Model, Best Practices...)
- Drive Business Development in the Region, setting priorities and ensuring adequate resource allocation to achieve yearly budget targets while preparing for medium & long term ambitions
- Leverage & Optimize the group resources (Product innovations, Services, Instruments, Frames...) to build the myopia control category and Stellest business
- Leverage Medical Marketing / Professional Relations / Education, together with the Head of Education and Professional Relations and Leonardo Training Teams:
- Ensure Medical Science Liaison Team staffing in the right geographies
- Professional Relations activities to influence KOL, leverage scientific events/congresses (global, regional, local)
- Ensure the right level of Medical marketing content
- Lead the Dispensers strategy across the region, supporting markets in their execution:
- Reinforce Dispensers engagement & expertise on the myopia management category:
- Training / certifications
- Essilor B2B program implementation
- Develop in-store experience focusing on creating amazing kids experience
- Reinforce Dispensers engagement & expertise on the myopia management category:
- Develop Myopia Management awareness among consumers:
- Run B2C media campaigns to raise consumer awareness
- Implement B2C Myopia Awareness Programs
- Continuously enrich Essilor Stellest value proposition with product & service upgrades
- Leverage the Frames and Instruments capabilities (Refraction, Measurements....) to create a holistic experience
- Tracking of competitive and Regulatory/ environment to identify risks & opportunities
Other general R&R related to the role:
- Define value creation: pricing strategy, product positioning, margin
- Key contact for Operations: forecasting, product definition, market roll-out etc...
- Support the countries to ensure efficient launches: training, communication material, elements for roadshows and collaborate with Media/Digital team to support Brand awareness in relevant geographies
- Lead performance analysis: sales tracking, in market performance, and implementation of required corrective actions
- Drive market research to capture consumer & healthcare professional insights
Main requirements:
- Minimum 8/10 years+ of B2B-2C marketing experience and business development
- Experience in managing brand and product innovations in a B2B-2C environment
- Used to work within a Medical environment and/or with solid experience in the Optical or Health industry (OTC, Medical Device, Drugs…)
- Mastering the building of an offer (consumer insight, marketing concepts, communication) and all the aspects of the Marketing Mix: pricing, product, distribution, promotion
- This person should have proven success in building Go To Market Plans for innovative products
- Experience in category growth and associated strategic planning
- Keen to understand the technology behind the ophthalmic and lenses
- Experience in managing and developing people directly but ability to operate into a matrix organization
Any of the following experiences would be a plus for the candidate:
- A commercial experience, managing a direct relationship with store Owners or Retailers
- An experience in Retail experience (translation of a brand message in the store)
- Optic industry experience and Myopia category understanding would be a “plus”
- Market access experience in medical device or drug
