The Wholesale team works with our customers one-on-one, developing professional relationships based on trust and care.

GENERAL FUNCTION

The Business Development Manager (BDM) will collaborate with the local brand sales leadership team driving top line growth and achieving sales goals by leveraging strategic initiatives at our Diamond Plus accounts. The BDM will direct the Business Development Sales Lead (BDL) team to forge strong relationships and participate in events with influential stakeholders that are members of strategic alliances and buying groups. The BDMs will lead BDLs in driving iECPs to enroll and maintain compliance with EL360 commercial program and service Diamond Plus accounts in their book of business.

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partnering with sales leadership on field opportunities with top Diamond Plus accounts and achieving top line growth and financial targets through nationwide commercial programs and initiatives like, but not limited to EL360 and EssilorLuxottica’s customer loyalty rewards program.
  • Visiting top Diamond Plus accounts on a regular call cycle, directing the BDL team to deliver comprehensive support of this account base.  Under their direction the team will review overall business trends and educate iECPs on ways to generate more profitability for their practice by leveraging the commercial offerings of EssilorLuxottica programs and portfolio.
  • Working cross-functionally with local sales leaders and their teams in the optical organization to ensure service levels are met with priority customer and external stakeholders.
  • Develop a team of BDLs to convey the value proposition of the EL360 program to ECPs in a meaningful way to influence customer enrollment and compliance
  • Mentor BDLs in developing their selling skills and effectively conducting quarterly business reviews with their clients
  • Ensure follow through on sales leads by facilitating the coordination between BDL team and the local sales synergy partners
  • Set quarterly targets for team and drive sales goals
  • Responsible for all aspects of BDL people management including but not limited to hiring, onboarding, performance management, development, co-traveling, and driving engagement and communication
  • Collaborates with Sr Director of Business Development in field activation strategies to drive growth with account base
  • Responsible to cascade overall corporate directives, messaging, priorities and changes with commercial programs to their BDL team.
  • Forges relationships with local influencers in market and participates in local events to drive sales through these partnerships.
  • Uses knowledge of the optical independent channel of trade to recommend opportunities to gain market share
  • Significant travel required within assigned region up to 80% of time

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • +10 years of experience working in an account management function or similar role in optical industry
  • Leadership experience
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and collaborate with multiple levels of organization both internally and externally
  • Strong communication and presentation skills and ability to interact and negotiate effectively with customers
  • Strong initiative and sense of urgency
  • Microsoft Office

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Professional selling skills
  • ABOEC speaking certification

​Pay Range: 142,808.53  - 207,780.08 

 

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements. In addition, you may also be offered a competitive bonus and/or commission plan, which complements a first-class total rewards package.
