We are looking for a Data Scientist that will support our manufacturing operations by extracting insights from analysing shop floor data. The candidate will perform all activities associated with the design, prototype and development of machine learning models. He/She will join the Business Process Innovation team whose purpose is to guide the innovation inside Luxottica manufacturing all over the world.

Here some of the responsibilities you will have:

•    Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions.
•    Mine and analyse data from company databases to drive optimization and improvement of product development.
•    Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques.
•    Develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets.
•    Use predictive modelling to increase process quality.
•    Coordinate with manufacturing teams to implement models and monitor outcomes.

PORTRAIT OF A PERFECT CANDIDATE
 
•    Strong knowledge of statistical computer languages (Python, SQL, etc.). Experience with PyTorch is a plus.
•    Knowledge of Computer Vision techniques (image processing) and main algorithms (Convolutional Neural Networks, Autoencoders, …)
•    Experience with Azure and Databricks Environment is a plus.
•    Knowledge of a variety of machine learning techniques (clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, etc.) and their real-world advantages/drawbacks.
•    Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests and proper usage, etc.) and experience with applications.
•    Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on product development.
•    A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques.
